Marcelo is a true artist in every sense of the word; he performs an amazing dance with light and shadow with his camera. He amazes me with his vision of the world and inspires me to look at my world with a more off of center gaze. His opened minded take on the world, society and art seems to allow him to move through his artistic journey with an ease and a fearlessness. The images he creates are possible only through the eyes of man that possesses a unique ability to see and translate the truth in a simple way that fully embraces the imperfect, the odd, and the sadness as a necessary component to the beauty of human nature but he still manages to give equal weight to the sublime beauty of it all. The fact that he can achieve this level of emotional intimacy and photographic quality often times with a cell phone is even more fascinating and simply incredible. If that's not enough...he's got sweet taste in music.
