Decorative and functional fused glass inspired by contemporary illustration, twisted fairytales and the emotive properties of colour.

Japanese dolls first led me down the creative path, introducing photography and doll customization in the pursuit of capturing mood, wonderment and a sense of the uncanny. As artistic identity strengthened and technical curiosities grew, so began my venture into the enticing world of glass.

I marry opaque and translucent glass to transcend light creating tonal depth, whilst dynamic shapes are achieved by cold-working the glass in its solid state prior to firing. Bold, linear drawings applied by hand or decal transfer stamp my illustrative design onto the surface, casting subtle shadows upon the curves of colour gleaming beneath.

My work is a progressive journey of personal expression, experimentation and gratifying fulfilment, whereby today's body of work both influences and informs the aspirations of tomorrow.
