Drag to set position!
I've been deeply passionate about photography for 38 + years—it's the one thing I've pursued with consistent enthusiasm for this long. I find endless inspiration in studying the work of other photographers, always learning something new.
I'm also a gear enthusiast. I love diving into the details of both new and vintage equipment. Each lens has its own character, each manufacturer its pros and cons, and each setup shines in its own context. I enjoy the hunt for new gear, testing it out, and experimenting to achieve different results. While I know the camera doesn't make the photographer, it certainly adds a new "flavor" to the image. There's a world of difference between the clean, crisp digital files from a pro Canon setup and the unique character of a 60+-year-old lens from an old spy plane, paired with expired 4x5 large format Polaroid film. It's a completely different experience!
Shooting film has slowed me down and changed the way I approach each shot. I used to take too many photos digitally—just "spraying and praying." Film brings out a certain authenticity that I've come to love. Spending hours in Photoshop trying to add "dirt" and character to overly clean digital files never felt quite right. There's something unpredictable about film, a kind of magic that often results in an artful quality I've never achieved with digital. Maybe that's just my perception, but I've enjoyed the process immensely.
Thanks to everyone who takes a moment to check out my photos! I don't have many venues to share my work, so it’s a lot of fun to receive and give feedback in this great community of like-minded photographers!
