Born in a time of dodgy music and even dodgier mustaches, Stoneybuckets is an eighties kid and so-called celtic cub. At the age of six he began taking piano lessons, but a lack of empathy and understanding in the music he was studying forced him to rebel and abandon lessons after reaching grade two. A year later after vowing never to take lessons again he took it upon himself to learn the guitar. But alas, the lessons Stoneybuckets would learn were not to stop here. Finishing school in 2004, in what he himself would describe as a “sensible” decision he began studying manufacturing at the University of Limerick. Quickly realising that the manufacturing world was all too regimented for him, he vowed never to enlist in “sensible” decisions again. However he endured the banal and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2008. His next academic adventure would see him delve head first into a Masters of Arts in Music Technology, again at the University of Limerick. There he would meld into the sonorous world of electroacoutic music and sound art, forever altering his outlook on dissonance, music, sound and life…
