I ain't an artist

我想我的作品沒有辦法就單張來思考，而必須視全部的作品為一整體，所要呈現的意涵才會清楚浮現。就像是水(H2O) ，若就拆解元素來看，不過是兩個氫跟一個氧所組成，這種最基本的元素，相信絕大多數的人是不會有太多的興趣與想像。但若由無數個H2O累積，它就會產生濕潤、厚重、廣闊無邊等印象的神祕海洋。因此我不斷的累積自己的作品，期許有天能真正的看到神秘海洋全貌。

一切都是想像力的問題。我們的責任從想像力中開始。葉慈(W.B. Yeats)這樣寫。In dreams begin the responsibilities──正是這樣。反過來說，沒有想像力的地方或許也不會產生責任。

“Upon inspecting my previous works, I still remember clearly my states of mind during the particular creative processes.”

Sting Chen currently works for the Memes Creative Partnership. His works primarily consist of visual, advertisement, branding, innovation, design, and merchandise development. In the 365 days out of the year, he is constantly dreaming; therefore, he has realistically recorded the details of his dreamscapes to form a creative interest and a way to learn more about the self. When dreaming, many clips are presented in the deeper layer of the brain, and they are surreal yet full of indirect icons. “Mind Sketch” is a series of creative works that have transformed the ideas and states of minds in dreams into images.

The works have to be viewed as a complete whole, in order for the meaning to be clearly apparent. Similar to water, H2O, if the elements were to be separated, it would merely just be two hydrogen atoms bonded to an oxygen atom. However, if there were to be numerous composites of H2O, a mysteriously borderless ocean will be formed from the humidity, thickness, and expansiveness. Therefore, the artist continues to accumulate his works; in hopes that one day, he could see the complete appearance of the mysterious ocean from his dream.

現在メメス・クリエーティブ・パートナーシップ（MEMES CREATIVE PARTNERSHIP）に勤めている。主な仕事はヴィジュアル、広告、ブランディング、クリエーティブ、デザイン､商品開発。一年365日四六時中夢を見ている。夢境でみたことを真実に記録するのは創作への趣きと自己認識の一つの方法である。夢は脳内深層意識のかけらをつなぎ合せたもので、現実的でありながら、暗示的なアイコンが随所隠されている。「マインド・スケッチ」は夢境にある思いや心境をストレートに画像化した作品である。作品全体を1つとして意識内容を伝っている。それは水（H2O）と同様に、元素論からみると、ただ水素1つと酸素2つの元素に組み合されているけれども、無数のH2O を集まると、潤い、重厚、広大などのイメージをもつ神秘的な海洋となる。作品を創り、積み重ねることによって、自分の夢境に現れてくる神秘的な海洋の全貌を真に見据えられる日を待ち続けている。
