O que é o Projeto Sticker Map?

 

É um projeto, que produziu um mapeamento fotográfico da intervenção dos Stickers na Avenida Paulista, São Paulo - Brasil durante os meses de Agosto, Setembro e Outubro de 2008.

  

Como funcionou?

 

Os registros foram feitos todos a partir de um celular, pois o dispositivo possibilita produção, localização espacial e compartilhamento de imagens forma móvel.

A característica central do projeto foi apropriação do espaço urbano atrelada a mobilidade física e informacional.

 

As Redes Wi-Fi e 3G foram utilizadas para fazer os uploads simultâneo aos registros.

Para facilitar o compartilhamento foi utilizado o aplicativo Shozu, que automaticamente adicionou "geotag" as imagens.

As coordenadas de GPS utilizadas foram baseadas nos dados do Nokia Map.

  

Num segundo momento foi realizada uma intervenção na Avenida usando QR codes na forma de adesivos. Todos os pontos de registros receberam um adesivo com um QR code, que direciona para a url da página do projeto no Flickr.

What is Project Sticker map?

 

It´s a Mobile Blog project, that has made a photographic mapping of Sticker intervention on Av. Paulista, (São Paulo, Brazil) during the months of August, September and October 2008.

 

How was it done?

 

The photos were all taken from a Nokia N95 cellular phone. This device has the capabilities of to capture images, position them through GPS, and share them in a mobile fashion.

The initial idea, was to use only the Wi-Fi network available at Av. Paulista to upload the images in real time, however, a 3G connection was also used for this purpose.

To enhance this process, a cell phone application called Shozu was used to automatically add a “geotag” to the images, and post them.

The GPS coordinates were based on data from Nokia Map.

As a second step, an intervention was done on the Avenue using QR codes in sticker form. All the registry points received a sticker with a QR code on it that redirects the user who captures it to the URL of this page.

 

A collaborative future?

This project intends to be, in the future, a collaborative work, and in this way surpassing the limits of Av. Paulista. So feel free to comment, add tags, notes, share and use the images. And if anyone is interested in building a Flickr group please let me know.
