This is a man who has problems setting the time on his cameras. He may say it’s due to his wafting in and out of different time zones. Some may think this is a ploy to have us believe he gets up earlier in the mornings than is actually the case. I for one do not believe this to be the case. Once up, and on the quest for new things to record photographically, a unique mind-set takes over, and Stevie comes into his own. It helps if one can travel too, for a different slant on life as we know it. This he does, and brings us glimpses of untold natural beauty or of striking buildings and oblique views of common subjects that become works of abstract art. Stevie has a wonderful eye for the effect that light can contribute to his pictures. And he uses that light to the best effect. Not just amazing views from abroad, but here in rural England, Steve’s pictures capture and illuminate the country side in a most enjoyable and sometimes startling way. I count myself lucky to have stumbled across his work, and the stone-faced yet modest man behind it. Thanks Stevie :))
