I recently published a book of poems, Sticks of Sunlight, available on Amazon sites in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The cover photos of that book are from my Flickr collection.

I am also a authorial and editorial contributor to two books: Deadball Stars of the National League and Deadball Stars of the American League, both available on Amazon. Both books are collections of biographies of early 20th-century baseball players.

I spend my time wandering on foot, observing nature, art, and landscapes. All sorts of biota, plus rainstorms, skies, and snow, draw my attention.

Most of the photos here were taken by me, a few by my sister and father and a few miscellaneous guests. And, of course, ones featuring me are my way of addressing popular demand. I don't crop or filter anything and am happy to consider letting you use my photos if you contact me.

When sitting I write, read, plan, and study, often with a cup of tea or coffee nearby. I even watch TV. Board games. I also enjoy music, singing and listening and gesticulating to.

Volunteering: teaching English and extensive conservation work with birds, trees, odonates, etc. I also follow international news, and the goings-on of friends, family, and pets.

I'm working on a pair of blogs: music and nature. After 2010's skies, this year will be devoted to learning a new camera and capturing squirrel images. Well, scratch that--it's now 2016 and we're back to skies. The blog projects are moving forward, however.
