I’ve been photographing for over fifty years, with the usual peaks and plateaus of enthusiasm.

Started with film in the 1970s and 80s, drifted away, and rediscovered the joy through digital in 2014.

My passions range from high-flying aircraft to street scenes and quiet corners of nature — always learning, always curious. ✈️🌿📷

LIKES: Constructive comments that help me grow.

DISLIKES: “Spotter postcard” groups that only want perfect ground shots of aircraft. Planes — like birds — belong in the sky.

🚂 A note for rail enthusiasts:

I’ve been nicknamed the Railway Photo Detective — and I’ll admit, it fits. I love tracing the stories behind old negatives: who took them, where, when, and why.

Every railway picture tells a story, and through my #AIGricer project I try to honour the photographers who made them — restoring names, dates, and authenticity wherever possible.

Some older images here have uncertain or orphan origins. I always aim to credit fairly, and if you recognise a photo or hold rights, please get in touch.

Provenance isn’t paperwork to me; it’s a promise — that truth will always travel with the image.
