I am a self taught photographer from New Jersey. I like taking photographs of anything under the sun, but my main passion is urban exploration.
I enjoy going into buildings forgotten by time and ownership and reliving their past uses through seeing their current states. I find it gives us a truth about how society can discard something so grand in scale and toss it aside.
The second I step into an abandoned structure I feel both excited and nervous at the same time, a feeling hard to come by anywhere else.
I hope you enjoy my photostream and all it has to offer.
All pictures on my stream are available for purchase as prints. Please drop me an email if you wish to purchase anything or use it for any sort of commercial purposes. I am more than happy to share them with people.

The genre of Ruin Photography is a bit an acquired taste for me. After all, isn't the "opium" of photography to get a "fix" from all that is sexy and beautiful and new? However, of course, this COVID-19 pandemic gets me thinking about Death. A lot of projects and ventures are a being neglected, abandoned or destroyed at this time. Therefore, to be Buddhistic, Ruin Photography is a relevant commentary of the Impermanence of Life itself and the Institutions of Society that we tend to want to push aside.

Viewing Steven's photostream is like walking backward through the 20th century and revisiting the cultural and industrial landscapes and moments that were central to and defined our lives. Watching this stream develop over the past decade has helped shape my own work and take on these spaces. I've slipped into a number of these places and after viewing his feed, I've had to return for missed shots. His intrepid style and desire to get the shot will become nothing short of legendary. no doubt. First rate. Flickr's best and some of the genre's best work.
