Steve first became interested in photography as a young boy of 8 when his father gave him his first small Kodak Camera. In subsequent years he progressed to better cameras and colour Kodachrome film. After joining the Navy aged 16 he had plenty of opportunity to improve his skills and his travels were well documented as a result, in fact he was known as the “ship’s photographer”. Moving ashore, Steve also continued with his hobby and did his own developing and printing. His first proper “assignment” was at the age of 21 when he took on a Christmas job, taking photographs in Santa’s Grotto in a local department store. With the advent of digital photography and modern photographic software Steve gained experience in Digital Image manipulation and is now proficient in the use of Photoshop and Lightroom. He progressed quickly from taking mainly family and scenery photographs to more diverse work. A relative was impressed with his work and asked Steve to cover her wedding last year, those photographs can be viewed here www.steveparrottphotography.com
Steve lives in Cleethorpes, a seaside town in Lincolnshire, with his wife and young family.
