The Sterling Morton Library, designed by noted Chicago architect Harry Weese, is located in the Administration and Research Center on the east side of The Morton Arboretum, just a short walk from the Visitor Center.

It is an attractive space, with curved cherry bookcases, glass shelves, a ceiling that appears to float, and its own intimate garden-the May T. Watts Reading Garden-a perfect place to wile away a summer's day reading a good book.

The library supports the work of the Arboretum's research scientists and staff in Collections, Research, and Education. It is open to students, gardeners, natural history enthusiasts, and anyone who wishes to use it. Works from the Special Collections may be viewed on site.

Arboretum members and volunteers can borrow books from the circulating collection. Non-members are invited to use resources in the library's reading room or request items from their local library via interlibrary loan.
