I live in the great state of Michigan which is abundant with four seasons of beauty in which to photograph. Many of the images that I post here are from around Michigan, with a few sprinkled in from elsewhere. A good portion of these are from Ludington, Michigan which borders the edge of Lake Michigan and is brimming with wonderful views just waiting to be photographed. Please feel free to comment and make suggestions. I'm always open to helpful criticism.

Every once in a while you meet someone that you have an instant connection with and take an immediate liking to, for me that would be Craig. I love his warm & outgoing spirit with a comical undertone which is evident in all his very gracious comments. His photography is in a class of itself. His attention to detail and use of light is outstanding as well as his processing. I have lived in Michigan my entire life and have seen more of this beautiful state through his eyes than I have through my own. I have tried to encourage Craig to have the state of Michigan use his photographs to represent Michigan through travel fliers, commercials etc.... He has such a beautiful way of showing it off. He is a wonderful, kind person and I feel very grateful to know him. I hope to have a long flickr relationship with Craig & look forward to seeing all he has to offer us.

Once upon a time I wrote a testimonial about Craig. It is still there, but the icon is faceless as I have deleted since my account. Now, upon my return it gives me a second chance to say how right I was in my words about Craig all those months ago (and it is always nice to know that one is right!). His images are not just superbly composed, but they are full of colour, vibrancy, and - life. Ansel Adams expressed better than I can what I'd like to say about Craig's images: "We don't make a photograph with just a camera. We bring to the act of photography all the books we have read, the movies we have seen, the music we have heard and the people we have loved." So, keep clicking, because I am always looking forward to your images.

By looking at Craig's amazing photostream you could immediately tell what a talented photographer he is. But, Craig is more than an artist who strives to achieve perfection and learn in the process. It's impossible to describe Craig in just one word, but if I had to I'll use the word 'kind'. He is always ready with a kind word or advice and always willing to help with plenty of patience. I have been learning so much from his images, and am looking forward to many, many more.
Read lessAnyone can just point a camera and take a shot...It takes a trained eye to capture an image that grabs your attention. More important is being able to add the extra dimension of humor...Oh my gosh, Craig is fall- off- your- chair- laughing- funny...And a great story teller on top of that. A real joy to be his contact.
Craig a truly wonderful and kind photographer with a original, colourful and creative photostream, nothing is impossible for Craig (sterk1), who can do magic with HDR. A kind and warm hearted person who gives encouraging and lovely comments. A pleasure to have as a “Flickr” Friend!

Although I have never met Craig in person, I have talked to him via Flickr mail, and reply's back and forth in many posts. Craig always has a friendly word to say to others. He also seems to find the humorous side of things too.... which many of us could try to learn from. Craig's photo are filled with bright, vivid colors that grab your attention. Many of them feature the great state of Michigan and it's outdoors.... and all of the beauty that many people take for granted. As a fellow Michiganizoidianite I can relate to many of the locations he has photographed. The thing is.... the way Craig photographs and processes them, it's like seeing the same thing, but in a brand new light! Craig thinks that he has found the secret to getting photos onto Explore. He believes that posting a certain word with your photo (Sterkorama) guarantees success. The rest of us know that's it's really the way that his photos grab our attention that gets his photos featured in Explore. Take some time to browse Craig's photos on his stream. Then take some time to get to know Craig too. You'll be glad you took the time for both. He's a good guy.... and I'm glad that he's one of my Flickr friends!
