wow! what a fantastic journey it is to travel, traverse, skip, trip over and fall into stephen roy's marvelous collection of spectacular photos, one that spans a few wonderful decades of American life. gawking at his work makes me immediately feel like a newborn, newbie, enfant terible! wanting to catch up to the giant his great artistry represents. i've been at this for a few months now, dedicated to the task day in and day out, attempting to learn the art. alas, coming across stephen's work shows me i have a long way to go.... The transitional focus of culture, on the other hand, tends to treat the present (the living artist) as the culmination of the past" Robert Hughes tries to explain why the function of art is so easily overlooked. There's the feeling that there is no complacent audience that you seek rather an inner eye which embraces a world through your juxtaposition that is pure genius. SR/Gonzo® is a well spring of extraordinary intellectual and creative power. He is one of my favorite places to be. These are antiquities from the future. I love it I think ;-) tiens je viens de faire un testimonial là, non ? maintenant, c'est en plus ça: je suis une addict de bilal... et les couleurs, c'est la première chose qui m'a attirée chez steven. aujourd'hui, c'est sa puissance d'interprétation, sa soif de vivre dans le désabusé, sa façon d'épouser l'essentiel, la terre, la vie. au premier abord de son imagerie, on a le sentiment que tout va à vau l'eau, et puis l'on puise et c'est la soif de vivre qui nous submerge en son regard critique. la désillusion n'aura pas raison de nous. j'aime son blé, son bleu, ses cieux, sa terre, son feu, ses cris, ses larmes, son regard... ai-je écrit le plus long testimonial de flick r ?
