An amateur who has been shown how amazing photography can be by Flickr.

I've always had an interest in photography, but somehow believed you needed very expensive professional equipment to create very good dramatic photographs. But since I started to use Flickr in 2009, I've realised that you can create cinematic photos with relatively inexpensive equipment. And have since started to get more into it.

Most of the time, I try to express some meaning in our world and society through my pictures. Not usually successfully, but is nevertheless what I always aim to do :) There are some very good photographers on Flickr, whose works are simply amazing. And I try to learn from these people as much as possible.

The camera I use is a canon 40D, with these lens:

85mm f/1.8 (highly recommended, excellent value)

35mm f/2 (quite good on the 40D, much better on full frame)

24-105mm f/4 (very very good, only disadvantage is the aperture)

17-55mm IS (not very good, but works indoors because of the image stabiliser)

Comments and critique very welcome!
