I am an amateur photographer based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. My main interests at the moment are macrophotography (especially frogs and jumping spiders) and wide-field astrophotography, but I also do a bit of wildlife, landscape and cityscape photography when the opportunity arises.

 

My astronomical photos have been published on several astronomy websites, including NASA’s “Astronomy Picture of the Day” (six times) and the front page of Spaceweather.com (six times). I have also had more than 30 photos published in books, calendars and magazines in recent years. Details of these can be found in my “Published Images” album.

 

Ten of my images of the jumping spider Cosmophasis micarioides were published in a scientific paper describing new species of Cosmophasis: "Three new jumping spiders of the genus Cosmophasis from Wallacea (Araneae: Salticidae: Chrysillini)", by Tiziano Hurni-Cranston and David E. Four of my images have won “Honourable Mention” awards at the David Malin Awards, which is the premier astrophotography competition in Australia. The most recent was in 2019, with the others being in 2017, 2014 and 2012. Details can be found here:
