Drag to set position!
Creative, Self-deprecating sense of humour, Daydreamer, Analytical, Gadget geek, Over-thinker of the most debilitating kind! Am my own worst critic!
I own a Nikon D300 with 3 lens: Nikon 18-200mm VC F3.5mm - F5.8; Nikon 50mm F1.8 and my newer Tamron 17-50mm F2.8 VC. I also own a Nikon SB600 Speedlight; Custom bracket CB Junior, a remote shutter lead and Sekonic Flash meter. Oh and my Macbook Pro Oct 08 edition that I saved for years for!
Update: May 2013: I now also have a 20" x 20" pop up softbox, a shoot through/reflective interchangeable umbrella, my Giottos Tripod and Monopod, the Tripod is currently acting as a light stand for my softbox and umbrella (converted with a light stand to tripod bolt) and this is cool as I can remove the centre pole of the tripod to make my softbox a light stick, as I'm experimenting with off camera flash now. I also have a set of manual wireless flash triggers, a wireless shutter release, a variable neutral density filter - for off camera flash outdoors, a triangular reflector and some other bits and modifiers.
I am Self Employed and fully Insured as a Professional Photographer and shoot Lifestyle Portraiture and Weddings, as well as 'fly on the wall' type stuff but I'm taking it slowly (word of mouth, website etc), choosing who I feel I'd work best with, as I have no desire to lose my passion for Photography in the plight of money.
I graduated with a Degree in Photography from Derby University 9 years ago now, obtaining a 2:1 (let down by my dissertation - Dyslexia was not being my friend at the time but I got an 'A' for the practical Photographic work, which is key really for a Photographer! I specialised in Digital Production, including image manipulation, for which I am a dedicated Apple user and have been since 2000 :)
I got into Photography at around 7 years old when I got my first point and shoot film camera and I vividly remember sitting on my parents garden bench, reading the manual for my dad's Olympus Trip rangefinder camera, as I didn't get what the F stops on the lens barrel related to, or the flash guide numbers.
I was then given my first manual SLR (Canon A1E) when I was 14, to use as I pursued A' levels in Photography and Art, where I learnt the traditional darkroom craft side. The AE1 was a present /cast off from my Uncle, who has spent his life obsessed with Photography (setting up a studio in his bedroom in the 50's before travelling to London to work for his Career at the BBC, as a Lighting and Sound Technician, with a bit of Camera Work in there too). He is a very good amateur photographer these days, who has been lucky enough to travel around the world since taking early retirement, taking some amazing 'National Geographic' standard shots, yet hiding them away where no one can find them!
Aside from my Uncle, there's a bit of Teaching and an Artistic tendency in general in our family, going back a few generations I've been told and my Sister is an Art Teacher now, whilst I'm exploring the realms of being an Art Technician and supporting Art and Photography A Level Students alongside the freelancing.
Well thats all I can think of right now... Thanks for stopping by and check out my website eyespyimagery.co.uk and Facebook page and Pinterest etc etc etc etc. Just look for EyeSpyImagery.
