Hi, thanks for dropping by.

I got into street photography by accident, but it soon became a passion.

I haven't done a lot lately because of a foot injury, but that's nearly better now and I'm feeling the itch to get back on the street.

I shoot mainly in Whitby, England. I use mostly black and white film. My photos may not be masterpieces, but taken together I hope that they give a sense of the place and its people. And its dogs.

My favourite photographers work in what I would call “classic style” - black and white, film mostly, details of everyday life, emotion, maybe a bit of a melancholy or feel.

Now a plea...

Don't follow me just to collect faves and followers. I will look at your profile and if you have an excessive number I will ignore you. So don't waste our time.

I find stuff I like mostly by looking at my groups. When I do find something that I like, I try to express what it is that I find interesting or what I think could be done better. Do not be offended by criticism. I try to be constructive. I hope that most people will find it more valuble than a "great shot" comment.

If you really want to get my attention, participate in group discussions.

Sorry for sounding like a jerk, but the fave-collector mentality really gets on my nerves. Flickr should be about real interaction - discussion and sharing information. If you want a million followers who don't care about you or your photos then go to Facebook.

Anyway, rant over. Have a good time on the street. Peace and love.
