Juliet says:

Stef is my flickr idol. She has wonderful personal documentation skills. I love to see how she's grown, and the insights she brings to her life and somehow to mine. A lovely lady, and a wonderful observer.

Everything I said before under SheStrikesBack is true. This woman is a hurricane! Fantastic, contagiously funny, loving, witty, sexy, a powerhouse of energy and good vibes!

Perhaps the bravest, single most honest person on Flickr, and it shows through in her words and images. What better thing can you say about a person than that, I ask you?

The images that Stefanie shares are raw and real. The images are heartfelt and personal, yet so often they connect universally with the human experience. It is much more than just photos that you'll find here; it's visual poetry.

Steff, your photostream is a joy and and a sorrow, like life is. God bless you and your talent and your mind and your life. Oh, almost forgot: and your littleOlympus that makes big impressions in all kinds of places, including -- in my heart.

Insanely brave in revealing so much about herself, even the bits most of us would find embarrassing. Through her photography, Stefanie shows us that she's a survivor who embraces life. Insanely brave in revealing so much about herself, even the bits most of us would find embarrassing. Through her photography, Stefanie shows us that she's a survivor who embraces life. How can you not fall in love with her smile and joy at such simple things as blow drying her hair? She continues to expose her belly to us, open and vulnerable, and at once demonstrates her strength and frailty and beauty and rough edges, her hope for each day and her fear that she'll fall. I'm blessed to have stumbled upon her photos and to have learned her story.

Stef takes some of the most personal photos of NYC that I've seen. She captures the character of the buildings, weather, and people that are here. Definitely worth a view of her entire stream.

Hmm... I want to write something awesome and profound about Stef, but all I can think of is how I have grown to love her through her photos and through her raw exposure of her inner being, her truths and ideals and yes, sometimes flaws - it all boils down to the fact that she is real and true and wonderful. I hope som… Read more

I hope someday to be in NY sipping lemonade with her on a stoop somewhere, watching kids play in the rain. Or maybe she'll treat me to a visit here in Pittsburgh! (hint, hint) Rock on, Stef! You touch many lives!

Photography is all about human expression; a good photograph has nothing to do fancy gadgets or intricate techniques. Stefanie gives us conclusive proof for that. Insightful words, quirky images, seemingly simple shots, articulated or subtly stated opinions, NY in-jokes (which I don't always get) and loads of style and attitude - that is what you see in her stream. Her stream is not for picture postcard seekers; you have to be here and now and willing to look closely. And did I mention that all this seriousness goes with lots of humour! Yes, it does. Do dive in. It will be worth it.

Stefanie shoots with her heart and her honesty, which points her camera to places where many can't find or focus upon with their Leicas and Summilux lenses. It really isn't about the camera.

Through stefanie’s eyes I get to see glimpses of the amazing and diverse life where she lives. A young ballerina, the streets of NYC, and subway shots that reveal her keen eye. She catches what most overlook. From her unique perspectives, I learn about people, you and I. Stefanie’s work is intelligent, fun, and full of… Read more

Take a German girl, place some profound personal challenges in her path, and then set her in the New York theatre community, and you have Stefanie, who has a deep soul, and an appreciation and great eye for life around her. Her words of wisdom and perspective will make you think! Schöne grüße, Stef!
