Hi and welcome to my tiny house build photo archive.

I picked up my 28' trailer in September of 2017. It is a 21,000 lb triple axle, and was built to my specifications including the deck, which was extended in width to the outside line of the wheel-wells. That extension includes a structural flange with the ability to support my exterior walls allowing maximum width for my build. I had additional leveling jacks installed, stainless steel under-pan, and spray foam insulation between that and the sub-floor. It's a serious platform for my build, created and shipped by Tiny Foundations North East from the manufactured Trailer Made in Colorado.

With the exception of the cabinets, staircase, spray insulation, and metal roof, I built everything myself. I spent a few years on the design, drafting everything down to the last 2x4 in Vectorworks, which is a CAD (computer aided design) program. As I was dreaming up my plan I prioritized the spaces in my home that are not only important to me, but those I spend the most time. I found that the transition from the kitchen to living room played a big role in my home life. Having a counter with stools expanded both rooms and created an interaction between the two that works really well. Because of the importance of that space I choose not to have two lofts, so my kitchen and living area go floor to ceiling. On the opposite end is my sleeping loft. And below that is the bathroom, which takes up a lot square footage. I wanted a roomy feel in the bathroom so I included my dressing area, washer and dryer, and utilities. Because my "dressing area" and clothing storage is downstairs this allowed my sleeping loft to have a more open feel and can accommodate a queen-size mattress. I designed stairs with a landing, which provide excellent storage. The landing serves two purposes. First is getting into the loft, which is simplified, as the last step is seat height. And the second is my plan to have an exterior deck with access from a full egress window at the landing. I put one in the bathroom as well, so there are three means of egress - one in each room. While we are talking safety, I plumbed two sprinklers, wired a smoke detector with battery back up, and have a fire extinguisher at the ready.

I hope you enjoy the photo history of my build. Feel free to reach out with any questions or comments.
