After a glowing childhood full of humor and great adventure, being touched by a tenacious illness that has by now, been a companion to me for over 40 years, surprised me. This illness has tested, tempered, and taught me great lessons,,,an honorable, but most challenging partner in life.

In 2013 I took up art-photography and painting as a way of helping myself remember joy. I was struggling. The illness had become quite severe, and I my edges had darkened, as I watched life roll by in a blur.

These paints and brushes have become my great friends. Such a peaceful, joyful, contemplative activity! Everything stops when I'm communing with the vast unfolding mystery that sings forth so creatively, expressively and surprisingly. There's joy and play, and the always fresh beauty of now.
