We Stand With Jono
Drag to set position!
Jonathan Moylan is a 25 year old translator from Newcastle who is facing up to ten years in prison and a $765.000 fine for sending a press release highlighting ANZ's role in funding the Whitehaven open cut coal mine in north-west NSW. The mine threatens community health and agricultural land at Maules Creek, and the health and survival of Koala populations in the Leard State Forest.
The Director of Public Prosecutions, Robert Bromwich and the Australian Securities Investment Commission (ASIC) are unjust and overzealous in their pursuit of Jonathan. This is in sharp contrast with their apparent inaction on white collar crime within large corporations. This is the first time an individual has been prosecuted under s 1041e of the Corporations Act which shows the exceptional nature of the pursuit of my son.
