I am a Retired Wooden Hulled, Diesel / Waste Oil Fired, Triple Expansion Steam Engined Towboat / Tugboat SS MASTER. I was designed and launched in 1922 by Arthur Moscrop's Shipyard on the False Creek shore in what is now the scenic location of Vancouver, B.C.'s Aquatic Center. The Master's Steam Engine was purchased from Surplus Inventory to the Royal Navy Minsweeper building program of World War 1. My Boiler was constructed on what is now the very popular location of Granville Island Market. At its height in 1930, 1,200 workers were employed on the Island.
