Audio-video archivist and video producer/editor in Myrtle Beach, SC. Photography since 1986 which led into video and television work.
In photography, I am trying to express and convey experiences, symbolism and meaning I find in life by looking deeper into things. I believe that God's perfection manifests briefly at times and can be captured so as to convey that deeper reality to others, who, by seeing the photograph, tune into it within themselves.
While trying to photograph cloud formations, for example, over and over I found that by the time I had gotten my camera out, the best of the formation had dissipated. I began to suspect that there was a "peak of beauty" in cloud formations, which makes no sense from the strictly materialistic point of view. It means that in all things, as in clouds, some great Beauty beyond our senses is flashing in our physical world, manifesting and then disappearing back into the formless source from which it came. So in photography I am playing a hide-and-seek game with that Beauty and intrinsic Meaning beyond our physical world.
