I became enchanted with photography as a kid when my favorite grandfather left me his twin lens camera (you know the ones that show the subject upside down and tend to cut off the heads and the feet? But I loved it, and because I had it and spent my allowance on film and processing, I have pictures of friends, family, cars, and kid's Camp from the fifties and sixties!)

Years later, my husband gave me my first SLR and two nice lenses right before a trip to Yellowstone. (I managed to take 52 rolls that trip!) Later we took darkroom classes together and had a great fun, which led to eventually putting together my own darkroom and starting my own Photography business.

After Yellowstone I spent a year just doing flowers and outdoor wildlife on our back country lanes, and even years later, after Post Polio caused me to have to give up the business and teaching, But that's ok! Now when I shoot, I get to do it for fun! If I had to name my favorite kind of photography, it would be difficult. There is so much of the world to see!!

Digital has given photography a wonderful twist. On one of the first Photography conventions I attended, the Instructor asked the group a question.

"How many of you are using Digital?"

Out of our huge group, only four hands went up.

Digital at that time was unpredictable, black and whites looked flat, and when doing a wedding, it was way too easy to blow out the highlights and detail of the bride's dress.

But it's made such amazing progress since then!

Several years later, I was at a Convention where the question was:

"How many of you are still using film?"

Again, four hands went up.

My first DSLR was an experiment, but I wouldn't give up digital now for anything!! (I still have my medium formats (film cameras) but I'm slowly entertaining the thought of selling them--never thought I'd do that!) :)

Flicker is an amazing site! I wish I had discovered it before now! The photography that you all share on here is absolutely amazing!!! I can't say "Thank you" enough, for sharing your magnificent photos with me!!
