Sri Lankan Aid is a student run non-profit based out of the US and Canada which is dedicated to promoting positive development in Sri Lanka's most disenfranchised areas. Sri Lankan Aid strives to foster development and peace in Sri Lankan communities adversely affected by both natural disaster and civil conflict, to promote the education of others on these local crises, and to provide and encourage responsible, calculated, sustainable assistance to these communities. Formed after the 2004 tsunami, Sri Lankan Aid has worked continuously with communities in the eastern districts since the recovery effort began.
