A lifelong passion for natural history combines with a strong interest in photography to provide my major pass-time of capturing images of the natural world around me, especially birds.

It's pleasing to read the generally positive feedback from people looking through my photos... thanks to everyone who takes the time to send their thoughts. I've also been surprised by the number of requests I get from folk wishing to use various images in their work or publications, and I apologise that I don't always get around to replying to each request in a timely manner... it's a busy life this retirement stuff! To save any future issues this may cause can I simply say that all the images I upload to this site are readily available for anyone to use for a legitimate purpose... my general attitude is that pictures are for sharing, not for hoarding away on a personal harddrive somewhere... though I now have several of these too! I'd obviously appreciate a brief mention as the credits scroll by, and if anyone does use an image it would be nice to receive a mail letting me know.
