Sometimes the joy of photography is in the technology. Sometimes it is in the simplicity. Always it is in producing an image. (Darren Krakowski on photo.net)

I've been interested in photography since my school days. I bought my first serious camera in 1980, a Pentax MX with a 50mm f/1.7 lens. That's all I used for the next ten years. Only then did I buy a 28-80mm zoom for it. I still absolutely LOVE that camera.
By the end of the 90s my photographic activity had slowly dried up. In an attempt to revive it, I finally took the step to AE and AF in the shape of a Canon EOS 300. From there things started rolling again, and I quickly acquired additional lenses (including a 50mm f/1.8: These standard lenses are great!). My old MX also saw increasing use again, and I ventured into TLR and RF territory...
With the birth of our first son in 2005, I succumbed to the siren song of digital, first with a nice little Canon A95. Then came a Fuji S9500, a Fuji E900 and a Fuji F30 (Fujis are great in low light). My current everyday pocket camera is a Ricoh GX100. And I've ventured into DSLR territory with a Pentax K100D (recently joined by a K10D) and a secondhand Canon EOS 10D.
At the same time I'm hunting for 50 year old cameras on eBay, and they are absolutely fun too!
Since I got a Bessa R for my 40th birthday, I'm growing ever fonder of the Voigtländer RF cameras and lenses (although there aren't many examples on my photostream, as scanning is such a hassle...)
But in the end, whatever the cameras I use, there is always the picture... And here the flickr is a great stimulus and learning experience!
