Celebrate with Style

I am an insatiable fiber and needlework artisan.

I held a needle before I was able to hold a crayon.

I've been a student of

. art

. biology

. English

. literature

. creative writing

. computer science.

Some jobs I've had (to pay the bills) are

. sewing teacher

. computer programmer/analyst

. co-owner of a small chain of restaurants (3 - in my former life!)

. interior decorator's 'gofer'

. chandelier assembler

. floral arranger

. seamstress

. and one disappointing stint at a large greenhouse.

On my things "I'd love to do before I die" is:

. learn to speak Italian

. visit Scotland and Ireland

. go back to college so I can wear one of those nifty hats those PhD guys wear

. hike the Appalachian Trail

. write a book (that sells)

. see my tiny plot of Arizona land near Yucca

. adopt several greyhounds

. live on a boat

. drive to the Hudson Bay.

But I'm really happiest at home in my studio with my yarn, fabric, thread, needles, hooks, fabric stripper, serger, pins, trims, books, sewing machine, bindings, laces, glittery things, loom, hoops and especially my dear fingers and hands.

My constant companions are my two black canine friends - Shaddoe and Lolita.

My dream is to live as a self-supporting artisan in a smallish house with a largish studio by a creek in a forest.

(With wireless of course - and a nice UPS guy)
