"As a rule I choose not to single out any one of the outstanding photographers who are presented in each edition. This time, however, I am taking the liberty of making an exception, as Michael Hummel’s specialism can truly be described as something out of the ordinary. He not only still operates a classic darkroom lab at home, like many other photographers who work with analogue means, but also uses in his work the oldest available photographic paper, which has been stored for decades. In this way, in combination with the fascinating lith printing technique, he attains wonderful results, images to dream of. The works shown from page 18 onwards only represent a small selection of them."

Shows from Vienna to Arkhangelsk.

Update July, 2017 - another show in Vienna, drop by, opening September 14

Update May 2019, - Elena Chizhova. "City, written by memory" with the girl with the sledge on the cover (presentation June 1st on the Red Square, have to go)

Beautiful contact with real photography. The darkroom is magic compared to photoshop. I admire photographers who create their works in this way. It's beautiful, magical and intimate. The dark-room gives your photograps a soul
