The Spier Contemporary was launched in 2007/08 as the largest biennale art competition and exhibition in South Africa.

The Spier Contemporary 2010 is inviting all artists living in South Africa to reflect their experiences, aspirations and visions through new work submitted to this competition/exhibition. All work must be submitted by 30 October 2009. The exhibition will take launch in Cape Town on the 13th March 2010. It will move to Johannesburg and Durban in the course of 2010.
