I thought it was time to finally update my profile; I was tired of it saying simply 'I'm male' as if that were the most important thing in the world.
I was born in Sussex, England and moved with my family to Canada when I was ten. I went to school in Maple Ridge, moved to Coquitlam, then Burnaby, and eventually found myself in Vancouver. I've been living in Vancouver for around 12 years now, and don't see myself moving anytime soon. It's an amazing, laid back, unpretentious city, which suits me just fine. The great thing about photography is that it forces you to see things with fresh eyes; I'm always surprised by the fact that I never run out of things to take photographs of in the city.
I'm also happy to have a job doing something I love - graphic design. I've been in the industry for about as long as I've lived in Vancouver, so in that respect, I'm extremely lucky. It's a strange business; some projects are inspiring and rewarding, some, not so much. I always try to keep that creative energy flowing, whether it be work, photography or personal illustration or design projects.
Creativity is a huge part of who I am and, hopefully, it will be for many years to come. Not a week goes by that I don't watch a movie, hear a new song, or see a piece of art that stops me in my tracks and makes me think 'nice'. When I was a boy, I loved drawing, writing, reading, taking photos - years later, I'm still doing exactly the same thing.

This is definitely one of my favorite photostreams on flickr. Simon's work is beautiful, peaceful and at oftentimes nostalgic. He does a remarkable job at capturing moments in a city that's always moving.
One of my favorite Vancouver photographers, sp_clarke is one of the few people that can upload so many photos every few days and have them all still be top quality. I bet even the outtakes are better than most people's best.
Every single photo is brilliant and beautiful and unlike anything else I've ever seen. Your work alternately causes me fits of jealousy and fits of utter admiration.
