Rhode Island's Sparks Will Fly was formed in 2009 after two years of hard work building a grassroots following across the east coast as City Confessions. After solidifying their lineup, the band changed their name and recorded the six song EP The Soundtrack with John Naclerio (Brand New, Just Surrender, Every Avenue) which was released in May of 2009 by District Kills Records. In the summer of 2009, the band followed the Vans Warped Tour for the entire summer, and sold five thousand copies of their new EP to overwhelmingly positive critical and public response. Hard work, dedication, friendship, and catchy tunes are the keys to success for Sparks Will Fly. The Soundtrack features six exciting and dynamic songs that evoke many classic pop-punk bands with a fresh twist, displaying the band's diverse musical influences. With their music self-described as "Awesomecore", the band's debut EP is chock full of hooks, showcasing the talents of the band's three singers; lead vocalist Jordan Hillman is joined by the the dual vocal attack of brother Spencer Hillman (guitar/vocals) and drummer Charlie Iwuc. Rounded out by Skye Soderberg on bass guitar, Sparks Will Fly is a band of four best friends ready to build their regional fanbase into a national following.
