I bought my first DSLR in July 2013 just before going on a tropical holiday and after that started to get hooked.

Since then I have dabbled in various photography genres - trying to learn along the way, but if I had to pinpoint just one area of photography that grabs me then it is macro. I used to do a lot of diving and to me macro is very similar - it is a portal into another world that we do not normally get to experience, and both are full of strange animal, plant and mineral varieties that we rarely see from within our normal everyday environment.

I will keep plodding along trying new techniques and hopefully improving old ones to achieve cool macro shots - any other nice images that I capture on the way will be an added bonus.
