I've had a long-standing interest in photography but until recently never took the initiative to pursue it. I picked up my first DSLR in July '11 and I've been loving it. Since I'm still new to this I'm trying to feel out what I'm most interested in, but so far I've found photographing landscapes to be a wonderful break from the harsh grind of reality.

I've been following a few flickr members doing "365" projects for inspiration, that is definitely something I'd like to start doing in the very near future. The imagination and eye for beauty that this community possesses never ceases to amaze me!

An event that I love to attend annually if I can get away is Dragon*Con. It's a multimedia convention in Atlanta GA and it's like Christmas for me. It's like Comic-Con, only better because it's fan driven instead of industry driven. A large portion of the Con-goers dress in costumes from movies, TV shows, anime, video games or anything else they might be interested in. There are some "off the shelf" costumes, but there are also a good deal of costumes that people put a LOT of work into and it really shows.
