SO WHAT ROBOT are a friendly bunch of chaps hailing from Newcastle Upon Tyne. Inspired by the wonders of modern technology, tall tales of heroic endeavours and whimsical romance the 4-piece created a powerful and energetic musical explosion.

The band formed in mid-2010 from the ashes of 2 established and well-loved local bands, the quirky punk band of Odd Shaped Head and the melodic Indigo Colony.

Taking musical inspiration from innovative post-punk bands such as DEVO, Adam Ant and The Cardiacs, So What Robot write exciting, energetic and upbeat songs that aim to drag audiences to their feet and punch them repeatedly around their pleasure cortexes.

Sparkling, riff-driven guitars, syncopated dance-floor bass, pounding drums and playful synth-line hooks bring cool and attitude to So What Robot’s powerfully playful vocal narratives & musings.

August 2011 will see So What Robot release their much anticipated debut single A Girl Who Reads. With a video by Matty Brown (Vinyl Jacket, Little Comets), which catches the essence of the band.

So What Robot will be touring to bring their songs; playful, dark, powerful, full of energy and dusted with quirksome hooklines, to the unsuspecting public.
