In and of Toronto.

I tend to fixate on architecture and the loss of it - maybe this is because was born in the summer of 1967 as Detroit smoldered. People stopped believing in the city and it started the process of unbuilding. I left for architecture school long ago when I turned 19, but Detroit never left me.

In photography I used to fixate on eradicating the humans from my photos but they've crept in a bit as I reach middle age. Maybe the people aren't so bad - but I'll prefer a chipped Nepean sandstone crocket on a semi clouded day 9 times out of ten.

I use this site mostly as a tool to try to understand the buildings that comes into my life. I cheat a bit in cropping and perspective corrections because I'm an amateur and it makes me happy.
