Paul Gilman:

“SoundWave360 transforms stereo into a different spatial relationship that mirrors sound as we hear it in nature. With any pair of headphones, our delivery system gives the listener a sphere of 360 degrees of sound creating a fuller, richer quality than any stereo system.”

In regards to digital sound, SoundWave360 delivers a ‘sphere of intimacy’ not experience since vinyl records disappeared from the landscape.

SoundWave360 Technology

With the advent of portable audio, there has been a decline in quality of the listening experience, whether it’s music in a portable device, a movie or television show on the computer or an entertainment channel on an airplane. With the press decrying the ‘death of the audiophile’ it is apparent that ‘sound matters’ and there is a need and desire for better sounding, more enjoyable audio technology. SoundWave360 addresses most if not all of the problems associated with the decline of sound. It is now possible to get the warm, rich tones and full dynamics of music as well as a true home theater experience of video anytime, anywhere that you would want to enjoy entertainment.

The technology of SoundWave360 encoding is a patented process whereby audio is manipulated to overcome the limitations of common stereo sound. It is not a ‘black box’ solution like many ‘surround sound’ technologies available, and therefore is far superior in fulfilling the promise of its name.

Highlights of the technology are:

•SoundWave360’s ability to deliver natural, high resolution sound through the medium of digital electronics as a solution to today’s sound quality issues in all mediums and delivery systems.

•No special software or hardware is needed to enjoy SoundWave360 encoded content.

•Entertainment mediums from film and TV, to music and audio books enjoy an upgrade in sound through SoundWave360 not experienced in this era of portable digital entertainment.

•Soundwave360 maintains "surround sound" from film and 5.1 equipped television content and delivers that quality of sound through any set of headphones.

•SoundWave360 is the first truly enriching and noticeable upgrade to the MP3 file and raises the bar on all audio that utilizes any kind of personal listening station or headphone environment.

•The audio tracks will retain their SoundWave360 audio dynamics compressed into any size file, as small as a 128kbps MP3.

•The tracks will also retain their integrity with any type of presentation, be it broadcast, streaming, downloading or on a hard disc.

•An enjoyable byproduct resulting from the richer sound quality created by SoundWave360 is a distinct “surround sound” quality.

•An increase in the signal to noise ratio for a cleaner and richer listening experience.

•Warmer, fuller, richer listening experience removing the compressed feel and ‘aural fatigue’ that is associated with listening to portable audio files that have been over-compressed.

•The audio is significantly easier on the hearing mechanism, protecting the eardrums from some of the damage associated with ‘close in’ headphone listening.

A Paul Gilman Company

Paul Gilman, founder and Chairman of SoundWave360 is also the inventor of the technology. He has a multifaceted and storied history in the music industry with many highlights:

• Early in Paul’s career he won a Battle Of The Bands judged by no less than Dick Clark and Quincy Jones and was feted on an ABC televised event with Aretha Franklin.

• After signing a recording deal with 20th Century Fox, Paul toured and recorded extensively, working in some of the finest studios in Los Angeles, where he began to feel the pull of studio work his interest in the science of sound was born.

• Soon after, Paul conducted the first solo Electronic Concert at Boston Symphony Hall for which the Boston press lauded him with “Best Solo Performance of the Year”. In attendance at this groundbreaking event were Bob Moog and Raymond Kurzweil.

• Paul’s studio became a test site for Apple Computers, Kurzweil and Moog and his integration of science and sound revolutionized the development of MIDI with Apple Computers.

• Soon Paul was invited to perform twelve concerts at Appleworld. To show developers the direction of the PC integrated with music. This was 20 years ago.

• Paul continued his studio work, creating soundtracks for television and film as well as the Olympic games, producing a number of artists from Leon Russell to The Temptations and creating music for commercials for Nissan, Maybelline and other corporate clients.

Paul’s interest in music as a universal language and love of the ocean and water’s sound transmitting qualities led him to communicate with dolphins and whales through music in his award winning film “Ocean Odyssey.” Accompanied by leading researchers, scientists and cinematographers, Paul created an underwater environment utilizing submerged speakers and Hydrophones through which he has proven the ability to dialogue with these mammals. In addition to the numerous film awards, he was awarded the Artist of the Year award from International Whale Week, a high honor awarded to the person from the Arts community who makes the biggest contribution to protection of marine life.

Paul developed the SoundWave360 technology as a response to his desire to put the listener in the middle of an audio experience. He currently serves as the Music Director of the Palm Springs International Film Festival and performs and conducts his original compositions, most recently to honor Quincy Jones, Franco Zeferreli and Danny Elfman.
