Update for 2018.

It's been a while, two years ago I decided to move to California to spend more time with my eldest son and his family. Photography has taken a bit of a backseat. However, it's so photographically beautiful out here that I have been shooting a lot but had let my Flickr account lapse. I looked around recently at the various other offerings but apart from Facebook and Instagram, there doesn't seem to be anything that enables you to get comments and feedback on your photos. I value that feedback so I've decided to renew my account and stay with Flickr.

Currently shooting with a Sony Alpha A6000 mirrorless, with a variety of lenses. This is such a small camera system that I can pack it and a couple of lenses and go hiking without too much weight. I've added to my film cameras recently too, a Minolta X-700. I'm using that to shoot black and white Ilford FP4+ film with.

History.

I've been interested in photography since my school days where I was introduced to developing my own black and white photographs.

Much later I bought a Minolta 7000 which was one of the first Autofocus SLR cameras available for not too much money. I went to night school and learned more about photography, read books, continued to develop my own B & W films, print B & W and Cibachrome from transparencies and develop my own transparencies too.

I don't really have a subject matter that I am really keen on, but I do like difficult contrasty lighting and hence I feel that my photographs often fail to depict what I was trying to capture.

Now that I have a digital camera maybe some post processing will change that.

Meanwhile I want to continue to see the world with curiosity and a sense of awe.

That's me!
