Under the festival’s theme in 2013, sound:frame will mainly deal with networks, artist collectives, interdisciplinary teamwork and international collaborations. Chances, positive aspects as well as difficulties that arise through collective work will be discussed. sound:frame considers itself to be such a collective that functions and acts as a closely cooperating team as well as a global community.

Within the scope of sound:frame’s exhibition «collective» at the MAK – Austrian Museum of Applied Arts/ Contemporary Arts, a special group of artists came together, including audiovisual artists, architects, fashion designers, performers and designers who will create a large-scale multi-media installation.

The sound:frame discourse programme will focus on different theoretical and practical aspects of the core theme «collective».

For live events at locations such as brut at the Künstlerhaus, we will likewise put particular emphasis on collective performances. International as well as local bands and musicians will collaborate with visual artists to create audiovisual live performances and shows that involve the audience as an essential part of the collective.
