Sörmlands museum är en del av Kultur & utbildning inom Region Sörmland - ett länsmuseum som finns i hela länet.

Sörmlands museum’s collections of photographs will give you a glimpse of the everyday life of people in the county of Södermanland, both in their homes and far away in the world. See life and the world through the eyes of the Södermanland people. Our photographic collections give a glimpse of and a perspective to historical and contemporary society through different subjects: 1960th everyday life, life in the country manors in the 19th century, or the Olympic Summer games in Berlin 1936 – right before World War II.

Sörmlands museum is a county museum located in Nyköping, Sweden. Increasing our presence on the internet is a priority objective in our work, a work in progress. We are making our collections accessible through our own website, and through third-party sites, to increase public access to our collections and to provide a way for the general public to contribute information and knowledge. Our growing collections now contains around 50 000 objects, 700 000 photographs (at this time around 90,000 digitised and searchable), a library and archives. The photographs have been taken over a period stretching from 1844 up to the present day.
