Sophia Gao

Born in 1981, Beijing, China

B.A.Fine Arts, Central Academy of Fine Arts

A progeny of great Chinese arts masters.

Sophia Gao - A descendant of famous Qing Dynasty grandmaster - Xu Ye Fen. She graduated with distinction from the digital media department of the design school under the world class Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2005. In CAFA, she had been nicely tuned to occidental arts and well versed in impressionism and abstract/modern approach. Prior to that she had been a live-in disciple and received stringent training in fine arts for 8 years, of course not with anyone else, but her grandfather Xu Zhi Xiong , a renowned living grandmaster.

Her creative painting is an assimilation of east and west, is a result of fine redistillation of traditionalist and modernist’s elixir. Painstakingly, each stroke was given a soul with high precision.

Nothing could replace our imagination. Sophia Gao, is able, however, to capture the essence with split second accuracy with her photography.

In 2005-2006, she was appointed to the chair of art editor for “Research of Watch & Clock Magazine, Beijing”. At that young age, she had tackled the multimillions, high-end and competitive market with style and ultimate elegancy. She moved on to a higher position in 2006-2007, art editor for “People’s Daily, China”. Her experience with “People’s Daily” further established her style as “Grandeur, Magnificent and Innovative”. She had since then contributed magnum opus to several commercial magazines company “Hachette, Beijing”.

A rare Pearl in modern era.
