Used to have a Pentax SLR as a teenager; started with digital at the beginning of 2010 with a Nikon D90, and upgraded to a D7100 in late 2015. Lenses are NIkkor 18-105 and 85mm Micro plus a Sigma 150-500 zoom and Kenko extension tubes. As an alternative I am sometimes permitted to use Mrs Sootyskye's Nikon 1 V1. When I don't have a DSLR with me I use an iPhone6 (but it's not a patch on my old Sony Ericsson C905). I was inspired originally by a school visit to the Photographers Gallery. There was an exhibition of photos from the Vietnam War (possibly by Don McCullin.) The inspiration was that one wall had the press photos, and the opposite wall had the images taken as art, both sets of photos having a commentary by the artist.
