Happily retired, I've lived in Tucson, Arizona, since 1993. Lived in South Burlington, Vermont, for forty-two years. Had interesting careers in both the newspaper (twenty-three years) and travel (seventeen years) industries.
My life's passion has always been travel. Mostly in the US; I've visited all fifty states. Not too much international; about ten countries outside the United States.
National Parks geek. I visit whenever possible. My favorite is usually Big Bend in Texas, but I can argue for Arches whenever I'm there. Delicate Arch is my favorite landmark. First saw it in 1973 and I still get excited whenever I hike there. Rounding that final corner & then having Delicate suddenly appear in full view right in front is an incredible thrill for me. I spend a lot of time in Tucson's Saguaro National Park, where I volunteer. Best "job" ever!
Like to hike and camp, and I dabble in photography, where I'm still a total amateur. At present, I shoot mostly with a Nikon D750, but still occasionally use my D7100. Older photos were usually taken with a Panasonic Lumix, and a few REALLY old shots were from a Minolta SRT 201 film camera and there are a couple taken with an even older Yashica, the model which is lost to memory.
In addition to flickr, I post my photos in a few other places on the internet...
