I've now burned out two Sony DSC W55's. Well, one got stolen, and the zoom on the other one froze while I was shooting at the Ship and Anchor.

I didn't get into photography with the intention of getting into photography, but I'm into everything, so it was inevitable. I'll have to stop letting my gear stumble down staircases the way my writing does...although how would you do that with photographs?

I like looking at musicians, dancers, actors, poets, lights, buildings, creations, skies, mountains, trees, oceans, and people. I guess that describes where my camera goes (when I have one). Add a camera, and I scratch my beard about whether the camera should be transparent or an obvious participant in the picture. I imagine I'll always split the difference. All it takes to ruin a perfectly-good philosophical argument is the word, should
