I'm an IT professional who loves photography. Lacking in personal photograpghic creativity, my approach is often influenced by the pure brilliance of others. In my futile attempts to re-create similarly composed, or shot images I often end up with something completely different, but am ultimately pleased with the results (well with the photos I post to Flickr anyhow).
I have recently discovered that using a DSLR is 'dumming' my photgraphic knowlege somewhat, and has also made shooting (for me) less from the heart. I have switched back to film (humble 35mm and 120mm MF) and am enjoying the permanence and romance that film provides. Shooting in a format on a limited and precious resource had slowed and steadied my approach to capturing images. Rember the excitement you used to get when you collected your images from the photographic store?
