From Plymouth, Devon, UK. My interest in outdoor photography was kindled by the landscapes and seascapes of south west England and my professional research into various aspects of the marine and terrestrial environments. My favourite regional locations for photography are Burrator, the Blackslade and Bonehill regions of Dartmoor, the Penwith peninsula and the Cornish coast around Newquay. Further afield, it’s the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, Finistere, Malta, Iceland and The Canary Islands.

I have been using Canon EOS SLRs for about twenty years and currently have a 750d and 600d. I use a variety of lenses but favour the Canon 10-18 mm IS for landscapes and architecture and Canon 55-135 IS for landscape compression. I often use graduated neutral density filtration and also experiment with long exposures using a B&W or Tiffen ten stopper. General processing is done in Lightroom and fine-tuning in GIMP.

I have been inspired by many of the images seen on Flickr and since joining my photography has improved considerably. Although I have had photos published in papers and journals and have accrued sales through Getty Images, photography is really just a hobby for me. My other interests include football, cricket, music and trivia.
