I miss film photography...winding recently shot film in a pitch black room...mixing chemicals...where every bit of effort and energy is poured out into a single roll of film and each photograph is treated and manipulated to it's own settings.
Of course today, film costs too much to process develop and print...so we are forced in the ways of digital photography...which I truly don't have the same passion for...I feel that it is not the true art that photography used to be...that it takes less effort...and doesn't have the beautiful raw qualities that film has.
But, even as I begin to think like that, I draw myself much deeper into digital photography. This is where I discover multiple ways to manipulate digital in a way of creative expression that is just as detail-oriented as film. It may not be the same style as film, but there is more than meets the eye, which is why I have finally begun to embrace digital.
