ABOUT ME~

I'm a stay-at-home person who loves to take photos! I was born and raised in rural south Alabama and love the country. I have always loved taking pictures, I get this love from my daddy who has had several cameras. The one I remember the most was a BW Polaroid Electric Eye 900 Land Camera, which I now cherishly own. It's one that has the accordion pull out lens. So cool! He took many a picture with it as I was growing up. I loved to watch him pull the picture out and let it develop, then smear that funny smelling stuff on a pink swab onto the picture to set it. I loved that smell!

I took photography in college (late 70's) and loved darkroom work so much that I purchased all the equipment and had my own. There's nothing like taking an otherwise ordinary picture and turning it into a work of art. I also have an art background and degree and love painting and drawing too. That's why I love the new computer programs you can use to edit and transform photos into works of art, however, some great photos do not need any enhancement, they speak for themselves!

My husband works for the rural electric co-op here, where we live. So after 30 years of roaming the several counties the co-op covers with electricity, he knows all the great rural places to get the best shots! He drives me around and patiently sits, snacks, stays cool, or sometimes even holds an umbrella over me and my camera! He's a great guy! My thanks to him for contributing to my love of photography.

We have one child, our daughter Holly, who has the love of photography also. She and her husband, Richard, are happily married living in Louisiana.

I hope you enjoy my photostream as much as I have enjoyed putting it all together. Thanks for all the wonderful comments on my work.

I have been so Blessed in Life!

Cora

Cora is a wonderful, inspiring, charming, spiritual, warm and truly gifted photographer. That I can count her as one of my favorite flickr friends without ever having met her is testament to her ability to see the unique beauty in most everything, make those found images her own and share her vision through her images and commentary. As an advertising chief creative officer, I have the pleasure and privilege of working with many, many talented artists, photographers and illustrators around the world every single day. I still can't wait to get home at the end of a day and see what Cora has posted.

I discovered Cora quite by accident, and it was a very happy accident indeed. I have seldom been so impressed by the total scope of anyone's work. She says she is an artist, and she does not lie--the artistry is apparent in every snap of her camera. I can spend far too many hours looking at her wonderful work and avoid… Read more

I discovered Cora quite by accident, and it was a very happy accident indeed. I have seldom been so impressed by the total scope of anyone's work. She says she is an artist, and she does not lie--the artistry is apparent in every snap of her camera. I can spend far too many hours looking at her wonderful work and avoiding my own! If you are wondering whether you should invest some time on this photostream, I will advise you that you will not be sorry for one second.
