“All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.” — by Martin Buber
Taking photographs has been in my system since I was young. I remember the first time I was tasked to take photos... I was 18 years old and it was my niece's baptism, and it turned out to be a real disaster! My shots were out of frames, my focus was totally out of the real picture. It's either I got their feet or arms or anything, but out of frame. In short, I wasn't able to take what is really happening. I was blamed for not being able to capture the simple ceremony well. From then on, I took photography quite seriously. I became much more conscious in capturing moments, aside from making sure that the people and/or things are inside the frame. Maybe that incident gave me the challenge to give myself a chance to explore this craft. And that challenge slowly built passion inside of me, and now that God is giving me the opportunity to learn, explore and more importantly, enjoy my passion, it is beginning to bring new life into my life!
I cannot say that I am already a master of this craft, in fact I do not even have any formal training or lessons about it. Although I intend to have some in the future. For now, I get inputs from friends whom I share the same passion and through self-learning methods such as reading online photography lessons, using my imagination, and clicking my camera's shutter almost all the time! I still get frustrated with my shots, always! But with patience and perseverance, I know and I believe I can make beautiful shots!
Now that I am quite learning the ins and outs of photography itself, I am also beginning to see and appreciate that there is really beauty in everything. The things that I ignore before are the ones I am giving attention now. Except for flowers and nature in which I am lover of them eversince, I am beginning to see the beauty in any thing. The stones on my feet, the little insects that irritates me, and other ordinary things which more often than not do not get my interest before. It also gives me reason to get on my feet always, to stretch my neck and look around, and more importantly, to have my eyes and mind focus on the good things that God wants us to discover!
To my friends, thank you for viewing, enjoying and appreciating my new passion! Your comments, suggestions and compliments gives me the power to continue and improve my newly found passion!
